Kolbrún Anna Björnsdóttir

Beginning her career as a classically trained dancer, Kolbrun Anna went on to study at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Wales, where she graduated with Honours in 1998. Kolbrun Anna is bilingual in Icelandic and English, being of Icelandic/North American Celtic heritage. She is comfortable switching between Standard American and RP, as well as adjusting to many different accents with relative ease. Having spent much of her childhood in Denmark and Sweden, she can also speak Danish and Swedish.
Kolbrun Anna has gone on to star in theatre, commercials, film, and TV productions in Iceland, including her most recent leading role as Hannah in the TV series Fractures, which she created and co-wrote for Iceland's national broadcaster RUV. Fractures was nominated for several awards and has been broadcast worldwide.
Kolbrun Anna founded and performed with the award-winning Ekka Dance Theatre for over 10 years. She was the Head of Movement and Drama at the Icelandic Film School for over 6 years, as well as teaching movement, drama and scriptwriting at the school. Kolbrun Anna has written for television, theater and is a published author.
